My Chains of Bondage
IDENTIFY YOUR CHAINS OF BONDAGE!
What are you a slave to? What has you in chains?
What are my chains of bondage?
Download the My Chains of Bondage worksheet to use in identifying your chains.
Draw chains you realize are controlling your life. Your chains should represent your words, thoughts, and deeds that seem to keep you bound to sin. Here is a representation of a human body.
Because sin impacts our human shell including all five senses and our reproductive organs and other members, draw symbolic chains around those elements of the human body that keep you chained to sin.
If the chain should be connected to another person, let the other figure represent that person.

Now that you have identified your many issues, the question becomes: what should be done with these idols?
We will address the ‘doing away’ with your idols, yokes, and chains in another section,
but for now, just keep your list available. As you pray, other things may come to mind.
Build your list as detailed as you can. Add to these lists as things come to your mind as you pray.
The real problem is that over time, your self-identity has been damaged. Your heart has been broken.
Your spirit has been wounded. Your heart has been made sick.
Anger is a serious spiritual disease. As you listed your various idols, yokes, and chains of bondage, how did you feel?
Can you see that your life has been impacted by far more than just one event or issue?
Can you see that identity is based upon what you believe about yourself and what others have conditioned you to believe?
