WHO DO I BLAME FOR ALL MY HURTS?

How can I identify anger and bitterness in my life?

In this activity, define who you blame, why or if you blame God, and how/why you blame yourself.

This information is needed to prepare for the ‘Letting Go’ activities planned in Chapter 9.


IDENTIFY WHO DO YOU BLAME


Name: Billy Joe Bob offense: he date raped me on our first date
Name: Step Dad offense: he molested me while mom was gone to the store
Name: Jerry offense: he made me have my first abortion
Name: Mom offense: for not believing me about step dad

Use a separate piece of paper to make your list if you prefer.

This list will used again during the ‘Letting Go’ exercise of this journey.

Do I blame God?

Do I really blame God? Often when we have experienced life’s negative experiences, made poor choices, or been damaged by someone else’s poor choice, we blame God.

Have you ever blamed God? While we may realize that is not what we should do, it is very human.

It’s only natural to want to blame God if we think He should have prevented my pain. Since the beginning of time, man has played such a deadly blame game.

While its not healthy to blame Almighty God who has done no wrong, it does happen.

God’s character is flawless, yet, we still find reasons to blame Him.

Victims of violation issues such as rape, incest, abuse, robbery, murder, and tragedy often blame God for not stopping the horrible or violent act.

The goal of this activity is to identify if we blame God and if so, why.
