Telling My Story
It is very important that you feel fully validated, fully accepted.
Your pain is real. Your past is real. Verbalizing your story helps to break through the fog of denial.
Denial is the human mind’s defense mechanism.
When things are too painful we use denial to cope with the pain.
Over the years, coping can lead to rationalization and justification of our choices.
Yet, those are common forms of denial. Telling your story is going to be important for you to heal.
In talking about your past, you will want to take full ownership of your actions and choices.
To facilitate this process online, you should complete the MY STORY WORKSHEET. The questions may not be easy to answer.
The key is, however, to complete each question before sending your email it to the office.
Once your message is submitted, your pastoral counsel, the author will review your story and reply to you by email to set up an appointment for a time for you to speak with him over the telephone to allow you to tell your story with complete autonomy and privacy.
Remember, there is nothing you will say that this author has not heard many times. I promise not to judge you and will always protect your privacy.
